Easy-Tips (“the App”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use our app, including the new receipt scanning feature. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
a. General Data Collection
• Personal Information: Apple may collect personal information such as your name, email address, and payment details if you upgrade to the paid version.
• Location Information: We collect location data to automatically populate merchant details when logging transactions
• Merchant Information Retrieval:
- When adding a transaction, we may send location and partial merchant data to Apple’s API to retrieve the closest matching business details, including the merchant’s name, phone number, and website.
- Apple’s privacy policies apply when processing this request.
- Easy-Tips does not store or share merchant data beyond your local device.
- Users acknowledge that Apple’s merchant database may not always be accurate or up to date, and Easy-Tips does not verify or modify returned results..
• Spending Data: The app stores transaction details, including the amount, date, and location, along with merchant information.
• Advertising Data: The app uses Google Admob for advertisements, which may collect your device ID, browsing activity, and app usage data. Please refer to Google Admob’s Privacy Policy for details.
b. Pro Feature Data Collection
• Device Information: Used to optimize performance across different devices and improve tip calculations.
• Location Information: Determines tax rates and tipping recommendations.
• Transaction Details: Includes subtotal amounts before tax and merchant info to improve tip estimation accuracy.
c. Receipt Scanning Feature Data Collection (New)
If you use the receipt scanning feature, we collect and process:
• Receipt Images: If you choose to scan a receipt, the app captures and processes the receipt image.
• Extracted Receipt Data: This includes merchant name, transaction amount, tax details, purchase date, and itemized transaction information.
• Third-Party AI Processing:
- Receipt text extraction is performed using Google Gemini AI, a third-party service.
- By using this feature, you consent to sharing receipt images with Google for text processing.
- Google may temporarily retain receipt data for processing but does not store it permanently. Google’s Privacy Policy applies to AI processing.
• Storage of Receipt Data:
- Receipt images and extracted details are stored only on your device and iCloud (if enabled).
- Easy-Tips does not store or have access to your receipt images or extracted data beyond AI processing.
- If you choose to delete a receipt, the data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
d. Split Payment & Zelle Data Collection
• If you use Split Payment, we may collect:
- Venmo ID (if entered)
- Payment amount and merchant details
• Zelle Data:
- Stored only on your Apple iCloud account and device.
- Not stored on Easy-Tips servers and not accessible by us.
• Data Sharing:
- If you share a Venmo/Zelle payment link, transaction details may be shared with other users you designate.
- Easy-Tips does not monitor or control how this data is shared.
e. Analytics Data (Firebase)
• We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized data on user behavior and app performance.
• Data collected via Firebase is aggregated and does not personally identify you.
• This data helps us improve app functionality and user experience.

3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
• Track and display spending history.
• Auto-populate merchant information based on location and receipt data.
• Enhance tip calculations and tax estimations (Pro feature).
• Improve receipt scanning accuracy through AI processing.
• Provide personalized advertising via Google Admob.
• Analyze app performance using Google Firebase Analytics.
4. Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties. However, certain app features require data processing by trusted external services. These include:
• Google Admob (Advertising)
- The free version of Easy-Tips uses Google Admob to serve advertisements.
- Google may collect device identifiers, browsing activity, and app usage data to provide personalized ads.

- You can opt out of personalized ads through your device settings or by purchasing the Pro version of Easy-Tips.
• Google Firebase Analytics (App Performance & Usage Analytics)
- We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated data on app usage.
- This data helps us understand user behavior, optimize performance, and improve app functionality.
- The information collected does not personally identify you and is used only for internal analysis.

• Merchant Information Retrieval (Apple API)
- Easy-Tips shares location-based transaction data with Apple’s API only to retrieve business details related to a transaction.
- The request may include your approximate location and partial merchant details to find the closest matching business.
- Apple’s API processes this request and returns details such as the merchant’s name, address, phone number, and website.
- The retrieved data is not stored on Easy-Tips servers or shared beyond your device.
- Apple processes this data in accordance with Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- The accuracy and availability of merchant data depend on Apple’s database, and Easy-Tips is not responsible for incorrect or outdated information.
• Google Gemini AI (Receipt Scanning – if used)
- If you use the receipt scanning feature, Easy-Tips may send the receipt image to Google Gemini AI for text extraction.
- Google may temporarily process receipt data to extract details such as merchant name, transaction amount, tax information, and itemized purchases.
- Google does not store this data permanently, and it is used only for the purpose of text extraction.
- You can learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Easy-Tips does not store or access your receipt images beyond your local device unless you choose to save them.
How to Manage Your Data Preferences?
- You can disable location services in your device settings, but this may limit merchant lookup and auto-fill features.
- You can delete stored receipt images and extracted data at any time in the app.
- You can opt out of personalized ads by adjusting your ad preferences in Google’s Ad Settings or disabling ad tracking in your device settings.
5. Your Choices & Data Control
• Advertising Control: You can remove ads by purchasing the Pro version.
• Location Data: You may disable location services, but this will limit automatic merchant detection and tax calculations.
• Receipt Storage: You can delete scanned receipts at any time to remove all associated data.
6. Data Security
We take reasonable security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection.
• Receipt images and extracted data are only stored on your device unless you enable iCloud backup.
• Venmo payment links created in Split Payment are deleted from our server after 7 days.
• Easy-Tips does not access or store Zelle account details.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
• Delete receipts and stored data at any time.
• Disable location services in your device settings.
• Opt-out of personalized ads using Google’s ad settings.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as needed to reflect changes in our features or third-party integrations. We will notify you of major updates within the app.
